FEATURE: Birthday Bookmarks for a Toddler
The invites have begun.
Yup, I'm talking about Tot's little friends and their summer birthday parties...
Tot is an August-born and has lots of summer-birthday buddies, which has prompted me to at least start thinking about her birthday...because we do like to embrace a celebration!
As I'm sure many fellow people might admit, scrolling through pages of pretty things does count as an evening past-time (right?) and my latest favourite find gets a FEATURE blog post all of its own...because it's too good not to share! (And I must remember these items!)
It is an online marketplace called Lobella Loves , a platform for purchasing such gorgeous toddler & baby treasures. It would be safe to say I have become 'bookmark happy' on the website (much to my husband's concern...)
And here's some of the finds that I've bookmarked:
Cake
If you followed my blog last year, you may have a vague recollection of the cake my husband and I amusingly nearly fell out over for our daughter's first birthday. (The full story's at my old blog post here .)
But this year, I think the story will be quite different as I am eyeing up one of these fabulous cake kits, available from Lobella Loves. I'm quite a fan of this fairy garden one, and I think it could work really well because we're hoping to host a small garden party for her toddler friends. The only dilemma is, our Tot also adores dinosaurs and the dino one looks so much fun too...! Decision in progress...!
(Craft and Crumb cakes)
These kits definitely seem the ideal solution for me. I am someone who wants to put the effort into making their child a cake, but is doubtful about the outcome. The kits come with most of the ingredients pre-packaged; come with the decoration; and come with the much needed (in my case) instructions for how to make the cake picture perfect! Must remember these!
Decoration
In my opinion, every child's party needs cute cups and plates . I really like these animal ones- and I know Tot will love them too. I can't help but think that these cups and plates are the cutest.
Also on the site, I've spotted a really fun balloon - for me I'm keen on it because 'yay' is a word that I use to praise Tot, and now she says it too! Yay!
Gifts
Ohhhh mmmyyyy. It's a crab. On a rucksack. Eeeeekkk so sweet!
Gifts! Buying Tot gifts this year is going to be so much fun now that she has a better idea of what's going on. I'm so excited for her! Lobella Loves has this Joules crab rucksack available and I just can't help but want it (wish they had an adult one!?) Tot does a really funny 'crab' impression too, so this makes me think of her- she'd love this bag. It's bookmarked!
Another item I've stumbled across on the Lobella Loves marketplace is this 'Gooseberry Fool' crochet crown. I just think the handmade element of it is really special- and there's a range of colours, too. I must admit, I'm such a sucker for 'girly' stuff: it's ok to join in with Princess play, hey?!
With Tot turning two, she does like to put up a bit more of a fight at bedtime these days: she'd much rather play into the night than settle down for sleep! We've been tweaking her routine to have a good, calm hour before bed. However, I've clocked eyes on this adorable night light - and Tot doesn't have a night light currently in her room- so I'm definitely sticking it on her potential gift list! (I'll probably be the one that falls asleep first though, dreaming of smiling clouds...!)
And finally, as we learnt last year, with birthdays comes a need for storage space!! I'm including these woven baskets on my bookmark list because, let's face it, we'll probably need them. Not only that, but they match the colours in Tot's bedroom; they're Fairtrade; and I thought they were reasonably priced at £30! I know they're not so much a 'gift' Tot can play with, but we all know that she'll appreciate sitting inside them, emptying them, wearing them as a large hat...you know, all those things that toddlers do to quite ordinary things...
If, like me, you like the look at some of these products, do check out the Lobella Loves website- whether for a nosy browse or a spot of shopping! It's not just birthday bits as I've featured here- there's a whole host of neat gifts, toys, and decor for little ones.
And finally- do check out Facebook for a very exciting competition to WIN one of the CAKE KITS!! Link here: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1798774727119715&id=1445254839138374
Enjoy! X
PS. Lobella Loves has a really great story, and supports Cocoon Family Support charity through its sales- more info here - I found it very interesting and all the more reason to want to shop here.
