About
Hey folks!
Thanks for heading here.
I go by the ever-so-mysterious blogging name of 'Mum on an Island...'
I write from the weird & wonderful Isle of Wight, where my husband and I are bringing up two beautiful daughters. In lots of ways, I want this page to 'stand for' other parents living on the Island, too.
By profession, I'm a secondary school English teacher, who presently freelance writes and home tutors.
My parenting blog posts are written with a certain amount of anonymity- I'm not one to post our names or photos of our faces. Instead, it's all about anecdotal and light-hearted musings on this parenting malarkey. The blog actually began the day before I went into labour with our first child in 2015, and was merely a platform for 'entertaining' close family and friends (because apparently they thought that my husband and I would make 'amusing parents...' whatever that is supposed to mean?!!?)
Since then, the blog has grown- thanks to some fabulous followers- and some fun opportunities have popped up, too. I am ever so grateful for having the chance to couple up my blogging with relevant business folks and companies to offer reviews and feature articles, too. The site seems to be ever expanding!
'Mum on an Island' is my go-to when the little ones are asleep, or when I need a little time to do something I enjoy. And quite simply, I absolutely love to write. Always have done. Probably always will. Who knows- maybe my girls will as well?! So thanks for being here- thanks for supporting- and I hope to continue.
Love, Mum on an Island x
