I have actually spent the past few days accosting my family's noses with the Organyc wipes and telling them to smell them!

These wipes have also been noticeably more ‘resilient’ in texture. Without being too graphic, sometimes the contents of a full nappy is a bit like a sticky flapjack (and is very tricky to rub off the skin,) but these wipes cleaned really easily. With that said, they were still very soft and moisturising- and we also used them a few times this week for cleaning Tot's face and hands after meal times- something I'd never normally do with a baby wipe. (Our Tot has been going through a bit of a phase of ‘decorating’ herself in some of her dinners at the moment- mainly spag bol makeovers?)

Noticeably, these are great baby wipes, and the fact that they are natural and organic on our girls' skin is brilliant! But... there is a bit of a ‘down side’ in terms of price. These wipes are more expensive, comparably, by about 3x the price of our usual ones. On maternity leave too, money is tight. If I could afford to only buy these for always, then I definitely would! As our situation stands, I’m thinking of purchasing a packet every couple of weeks to keep in my changing bag- as our ‘out and about’ wipes. I personally feel comfortable using the Organyc wipes on our little ones' hands and faces when out and about, as well as just for their nappy areas. I can honestly say that we ‘got on’ with these wipes very well!

'Organyc' Organic Baby & Cotton Wool Range

Review, May 2017

(Organic Beauty Week 15th-21st May)

When our first born arrived, a midwife was in the room

at our first nappy change, and we pulled out a standard packet of baby wipes to use on our baby. Well... you'd have thought we'd pulled out slices of smoked bacon or something, as the midwife rapidly jumped in with: "Oh no! We don't use those!!"

We did, in the later weeks, actually resort back to those supermarket baby wipes, but it never quite left our minds that the midwife had a point about what we were using on our brand new baby's skin.

We now have two children (21months and 2months) and I've been thrilled this week to learn about a kinder, alternative brand for their skin! Organyc are a company offering a whole range of organic baby and feminine products, and we've loved switching over for the week- to see how they compare against our usual supermarket buys!

ORGANYC BABY WIPES, SWEET CARESS PACK OF 60

I'm going to start with the baby wipes because, as I'm sure you can appreciate with two little ones, much of my day is spent with a wipe in hand! Although we've never had any major issues with the supermarket brand we tend to use, I am pretty sure they are, unfortunately, sometimes to blame for a bit of bottom rash- which seems especially sensitive and sore when Tot is teething.

It was great timing to try Organyc's baby wipes this week, as Tot has cut her molars (arg!) - and we definitely noticed the difference in using these organic wipes! As a result of the switch, both of our daughters have had much clearer skin, with not even a hint of redness- and I can imagine it's also been much more comfortable for them!

Usually, I'd buy unfragranced wipes from the supermarket, in a bid to cut down 'perfuming chemicals' on our children's skin, but one thing I noticed by switching to the Organyc range this week was how lovely they smelt! And I didn't feel any 'Mum guilt' in the knowledge that this fresh fragrance was emerging from natural extracts of camomile and calendula.

ORGANYC BABY COTTON SQUARES, PACK OF 60

Quite often, when ‘flapjack nappy’ occurs, we do follow the midwife’s advice to use cotton wool and water, just to give that extra scrub. I gave this a go this week using the Organyc cotton squares. In the past, I have squeezed supermarket cotton squares into tight, wet balls in order to prevent them from leaving blobs of fluff all over the kids' bottoms! But the Organyc squares don’t have this ‘fluffiness’ to them: I really appreciate them for that! They made for such an easy and ‘proper' clean.

I’ve also found these squares super helpful when our newborn did her one big ‘explosive’ nappy of the week....you know....the one that involves an entire outfit change?!? I needed something to quickly soak up the ‘yellow stuff’ and these did the trick! I was then able to run a couple of squares under warm water and give her a really swift (but thorough) cleanse all over, as I really didn’t have time to give her a bath until that evening (#mumlife!)

Personally, I think the cotton squares would be an excellent purchase for a maternity hospital bag, too. They’d be just what the midwife ordered!

ORGANYC COTTON BUDS, PACK OF 200

The cotton buds we’ve used this week would also make a pretty good ‘hospital bag' essential for a newborn, in my opinion. I can imagine myself using these to sort out ‘gunky’ newborn eyes in the early few days, as these buds are extremely gentle. As with the other Organyc products we've tried, these buds are ‘firm' enough not to get ‘stuck’ when damp, which is exactly what I would want to comfortably clean around the edge of a baby’s eye.

In terms of how I used these this week, I actually realised they came in super handy for getting into the creases of our baby’s skin. She’s got some gorgeous baby rolls of fat, but sometimes it’s hard to get in the chubby bits under her chin; behind her knees; and under her armpits. Again, I just used warm water to dampen the buds and set about gently cleaning these more tricky areas. I found the Organyc buds brilliant for this!

ORGANYC COTTON PADS, PACK OF 70

Finally, I’ve also made use of- and fallen a bit in love with- the cotton pads. These were ‘something for me-’ in that I used them with my cleanser to take off my make up. These were 'sturdy' but soft, and allowed for a deep cleanse: I would absolutely want to purchase these again. I often struggle to fully clean my mascara off, particularly with cotton wool products, because I often find bits of ‘fluff’ get stuck to my eyelashes (and nobody looks cool like that....!) But these absolutely did not fall into that category! I felt the high quality of these pads really 'treated' my 'tired Mum' face!

OVERALL

By comparison, switching to the Organyc organic range certainly impressed me against our supermarket brand. I was unsure as to whether there could really be much difference in cotton wool and wipes, but I can vouch that there is! As I've said: resilient; soft and very effective, quickly. These products are of a higher price, but the high quality of all of the products I tried was very evident. Overall, a fab product range, that's nice and natural on the skin, too!
