Aesthetically, I felt pretty fashionable with the Sondrew changing 'system' on my pushchair (or as fashionable as you can feel when your wardrobe now lives in hope of sick-free clothes?) It looks sleek and sophisticated hanging from the pram! I think the black colour, with the white outlining pattern, makes this product look so smart. The travel mat also has clips (which you can fold in or out) to attach to your pushchair, so I will no longer be a tortoise doppelgänger (with my usual rucksack!)

Initially, I wondered whether the Sondrew product would work with our wagon (aka double pushchair,) but it fitted just the same as it would our single- great!

Sondrew Baby Travel Changing Mat & Organiser

Review, May 2017

I'm a fairly recent parent of 'two under two,' so leaving the house usually looks more like I'm moving out. Seriously, I think I packed less stuff when I went off to Uni! Half the time, I don't even touch most of the stuff in the changing bag, but it just ends up 'living there' because it does. Seven hours later, when we're finally ready for a trip out, my usual self has a double pushchair; two children; and a huge changing bag shoved with God knows what from the previous week. I could walk alongside a working donkey and nobody would tell the difference!

BUT- this week we've been introduced to the Sondrew Travel Changing Mat & Organiser- and it has, quite frankly, been an absolute 'GAME CHANGER' for me!

The Sondrew Portable Changing Station has the same effect as Mary Poppins' bag! It is compact in design, and cleverly folds in on itself to include: a nappy section; a wipes compartment; a zip-front pocket, as well as the changing mat of course!

Finally, this product is an AMAZING price, in my opinion. For something that is so useful, smart and 'genius' in design, I believe £13.99 is super value for money! I'll easily be using this product every day, and am pretty convinced it'll last until both of my 'babies' are out of nappies. I've even binned my old mat out of devotion to this excellent 'upgrade!'

Overall, I love it, love it, LOVE it.

I could fit 5-6 nappies neatly inside the product (plenty for an afternoon out with our two) and a packet of baby wipes inside the compartments. In the 'thoughtful' design, there's elasticated ‘straps’ and then a section with Velcro netting: it made sense to me to be able to quickly whip out a nappy from the elastic, then keep the wipes inside the netted section.

At the front of the station is a spacious pocket, where I put in a few vital 'bits and bobs-' but there would've been room for me to put my phone and cards or something too if I'd wanted.

I've been able to pack so much lighter this week, depending on where we went. For example, one sunny afternoon I thought we'd pop out for an hour for a walk around a big garden centre (I ambitiously thought I could teach Tot some colours, but she was like a broken record with only one colour: “RED RED RED!”) As you can see from the pic, all I needed to take was the Sondrew station, with my bulky purse and Tot's beaker slung in the bottom of the pushchair! (I should mention spare clothes had been slung in the boot of the car, but for a quick trip it was nice not to carry these around- usually I stuff them in the bottom of the rucksack and lug them about out of habit.)

Another afternoon we tested the product out at a Country park, where we weren't near the car, so this time I additionally threw the spare clothes into the bottom of the pushchair with a couple of snacks! This still seemed a much lighter and more organised way of packing than my normal method!

Without the Sondrew mat & organiser, packing this lightly is not something I would have even considered: I’ve just gotten used to shoving everything into one big changing bag. (And it has been known that a week or so passes, when I’ve grossly uncovered that squashed banana...)

It’s been refreshing to actually feel organised when changing the girls this week. I’ve had a sense of smugness in unbuckling and flipping open the 'station,' to see everything ready for changing! It's like I've got my own Mum 'toolbox!' Plus, it's adaptable: there's a zip down the middle where you could detach the mat from the 'compartments' if desired.

Additionally, the Sondrew station has made me a bit jealous of my own children, only because the mat has an in-built ‘head rest.' How I would love the chance every so often to lay my head on a little bit of cushioning (the nappy scenario not so much though...) The padding for the head makes a sensible, detailed touch! This certainly fulfils the 'brief' for a 'travel' mat: I really feel that I could comfortably change our children wherever needed.

The only slight issue I have found, however, is that our Tot is rather long when laying on the mat, but she isn’t far off two and potty training is not too far from our agenda anyway! Our youngest baby fits on it fine!
